There are about 40.000 turkish people living in Vienna (ORF, Statistik Austria). Ottakring and the area around Brunnenmarkt is one of the most interesting areas where turkish people are living. In this area you can find a lot of very good turkish restaurants, shops, cafes and a perfect athmosphere. I like this area very much, although, I [...]
Landed in Vienna on Sunday morning. Went to BILLA buying some milk, bread and butter. Not much, but was wondering paying 16 EUR. Then going by taxi from the airport at home and paying the normal fee of around 40 EUR.
So, all in one 56 EUR! I have not spent the last week so much [...]
Back in Vienna, this is sad. Everything went well, this is good.
Now sleeping, washing clothes, checking my backpack and feeling happy about the things I brought with me… And a T-Shirt from Kolkata Knight Riders…
A short summary where I was and where I am at the moment…
Started in Delhi and went to the top of North-India – Kashmir. Then Jammu, Amritsar, Chamba and Daramsala. Then one day Delhi. After that Varanasi and Kolkata. Now I am staying in Darjeeling.
Next stop is Kathmandu, then Delhi – Agra – Delhi – [...]
Went to the Nepal embassy in Vienna (Akazienstrasse 30, 1230 Vienna) to get the Visa for Vienna. Everything went fine. After paying a fee, leaving a photo and filling out a form, I received my Visa within 10 Minutes.
The more I am talking with other guys about India, the more I get to know, which people have already been there. I like this, getting in contact and getting inputs – where to go, what do see and listening to their travel-experiences.
Anna-Maria (a working-colleague in Austria) was in India twice. She was there two times. First [...]
Okidoki. Just coming home from the institute for tropical medicine in Vienna. Heavy – got the first 4 out of more then 10 vaccinations: 3 in my left and 1 in my right arm. I was already vaccinated for Hepatitis due to my last trips through South-East-Asia. This time, it seems to get a little [...]
Friday early in the morning I was standing in the indian embassy in Vienna at Opernring 1 (1010 Vienna). Some people were standing in the small line: Two backpackers, one business-traveller and an indian couple.
I was excited… Gave the ambassador my visa-sheet, an image, my passport and 50 EUR for a 6-month-travelling-visa (shortest you can [...]
This goes fast… After getting my holidays I was on Mariahilferstrasse this evening, buying a Lonely Planet for India. Wow, more than 1000 pages.
Route: Checked my route… Thought about travelling through North-India – from New Dehli to Darjeeling. Changed it later, want to go to the beach, enjoying sun and beach next to city and [...]
