So. Thuesday night I was at a concert from some austrian singers (Fendrich, Ambros, Willi Resetarits) - further infos in my blogentry. Those three singers were featured by Hans Krankl and Toni Polster, both great football-legends in Austria. There was also Herbert Prohaska in the Stadthalle in the audience.

My interview-know-how is very poor, I know… I will improve, this is interesting. But…, I was very happy to get in contact with Herbert Prohaska, Toni Polster and Hans Krankl and asking them, who will win the Euro 2008. Thanks for your time… Thanks to twitsay this works very fine.

Toni Polster: Ja es war eine tolle Veranstaltung, ein tolles Konzert. Die Leute toben. Nochimmer. Obwohl schon weit nach Mitternacht. Es war eine super Veranstaltung. Ich hoffe am Sonntag beim Elton John bekommen wir die ganze Halle noch voller hier.
s: Ich war überrascht, dass du hier gesungen hast. War gar nicht so schlecht!
TP: Ja, können 40000 Käufer irren?
s: So, gemma zum Fussball. Deutschland-Türkei ist morgen. Wer wird denn gewinnen?
TP: Ja ich habe immer gesagt, Deutschland wird Europameister und dabei bleibe ich.

Herbert Prohaska: Ja, alle haben bis jetzt ganz gut gesungen. Ja, es war sehr schön.

HP: Ja wissen tu ichs nicht, aber ich habe vor der Euro auf Spanien getippt. Die sind noch im Semifinale und ich hoffe, die lassen mich nicht hängen.
s: schauts morgen aus - Deutschland gegen die Türkei?
HP: Naja der große Favorit ist Deutschland, weil die Türken viele Verletzte und Gesperrte haben. Folgedessen sind sie ganz ganz großer Favorit und müssen eigentlich ins Finale kommen.
s: Also Finale: Deutschland - Spanien.
HP: Ja, Und wenn ichs nicht errate, dann hätt ich nichts gegen Deutschland - Russland, weil die Russen super spielen.

40.000 people visited the concert from Ambros, Resetarits, Fendrich feat. Toni Polster and Hans Krankl in the Wiener Stadthalle on Thuesday, June 24 (diepresse.com).

Als ob sich die welt seit Jahren nicht mehr weiter gedreht hat. Schlager um Schlager. Das will das Publikum.

As if the world has not turned around any more for years. Hit after Hit. The audience wants it.

The concert started with three songs from Toni Polster (former football-star in Austria). OK, he might have been a great football-player - as a singer he could not convince me very much not only to the fact, that his performance (three songs) was full-playback.

Wolfgang Ambros
played his most successful songs (”Es lebe der Zentralfriedhof”, “Der Hofa”, “Heit drah i mi ham”) and a duet with Hans Krankl (”Die Rose aus dem Gemeindebau”).

Willy Resetarits 
My absolutly personal highlight. He played with his new band “Stubnblues” new songs on a very high level. Some austrian songs as well as some songs in Croatian and Serbien language. Willy Resetarits understands his performance and convinced in text, music and character.

The audience did not accept Willy Resetarits and band a lot. Resetarits is very different to “Urgesteine” like Wolfgang Ambros and Reinhard Fendrich. The audience cried for “Woiferl” or went out to catch a drink. It was interesting to feel this flurry in the audience. But… as soon as he played three songs of his former project “Ostbahnkurti” together with Hans Krankl (”Goleador”, former football-star in Austria), the audience woke up, cried and clapped the beat. Hm.

Hans Krankl also performed his “Rostige Flügl” with Resetarits & Band.

Reinhard Fendrich
Last but not least, Fendirch performed songs like “Strada del sole”, “Es lebe der Sport”, “Schickaria” and satisfied the audience.

It was an interesting evening. I like Austrian music and - as everyone in Austria-  I know most of the lyrics and melodies by heart. Except Willy Resetarits, there was nothing new - Ambros and Fendrich played their evergreens and are standing still in their music-developement.
